About Dr Tayo Idowu, Hale Health’s General Practitioner with special interest in weight management and minor surgery procedures.
I graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ hospital medical school London in 2007. I completed my GP training also in London and moved to Newry to join Dr Emma Clinics. I work as a GP Partner and GP trainer in Newry at McVerry McEvoy & Partners within the Newry health village. I am also the current chair of the Newry and District GP Federation and the Co-chair of the multi disciplinary team (MDT) which is working to try and improve primary care in the Southern Trust.
Through my day-to-day work, it is clear to me that more needs to be done for individuals who suffer with weight problems and the vast complications that ensue (depression, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, arthritis and bowel cancer to name a few). This has led me to further my knowledge in hormones and menopause and also head up the Weight Management Clinic within Hale Health at Newry. I also have a passion for minor surgery including joint injections and vasectomies.
